My AFVP Experience in Mozambique: Tom Crawford
Mozambique: 25 February- 13th March 2015
Earlier in 2015, I expressed interest in volunteering for The African Fertilizer Volunteer's Program (AFVP) as a complement to for-pay consulting which I have done from time to time over the past few years. My experience in the fertilizer industry, agribusiness, and international development in Africa, fluency in several languages, and a desire to contribute to development of Africa led me to contact the African Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership (AFAP). Of various options to volunteer which were presented by AFAP, I chose to provide training of trainers regarding best fertilizer management practices and related topics in Mozambique.
My Volunteer Experience: Lynda Swenson
Ghana: 7th June- 21st June 2014
I had my first ever volunteer assignment in 2009 after deciding that volunteering was a small way in which I could make a contribution to the world. Prior to becoming a volunteer, I had had a long and fulfilling career as a banker in the United States, and after I retired, I decided to share my financial expertise with those who needed it.
