Josephine Miingi

Tanzania Country Director

Josephine is newly appointed Country Manager at AFAP Tanzania. Josephine is an independent consultant with over 20 years of expertise in East and Southern Africa in strategic partnership development, market system development, and agribusiness development.

Josephine has extensive expertise assisting institutions and organizations in allowing growth and sustainability through strategic partnerships supported by capacity building and mentoring, working collaboratively with central and local government authorities when applicable. She has experience managing non-profit organizations, agricultural development projects, directing, creating, and supervising studies, curriculum creation, financial product development and testing, and developing successful and sustainable forums and strategic alliances. Josephine has been key in advancing the agenda for regenerative agriculture for smallholder farmers in Tanzania, as well as promoting interventions in BRiTEN-implemented initiatives.

She is an experienced international consultant who has worked on agricultural projects for USAID, WFP, AGRA, AFAP, and Comic Relief in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, and South Africa. She has established and managed company assessments for venture capital financing, matching grants, and gender concerns, and she possesses strong analytical skills in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.

Josephine has a Master of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor in Agribusiness Management.
