Litha Kutta

Board Member

Litha Kutta is a dynamic professional with a diverse background in enterprise and supplier development. Currently serving as the Partnership Development & Programme Lead at the Land and Agricultural Development Bank of South Africa, Litha has been instrumental in fostering private sector partnerships and key stakeholder collaborations to support smallholder farmers through Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) programs and Land Bank investments. His role involves driving the implementation of collaborative farmer development projects within private sector supply chains.

In addition to his work at the Land Bank, Litha also co-chairs the Enterprise and Supplier Development Community of Practice (ESD COP), a public-private partnership program aimed at professionalizing the ESD industry. He further contributes his expertise as Acting Chairman and Non-Executive Director on the Board of Directors at UCT Food & Connect (Pty) Ltd, overseeing the provision of food and beverage services to UCT students and local events.

Litha’s commitment to driving positive change extends to his role as a Member of the Board of Trustees at loveLife, where he plays a pivotal role in developing and approving strategic goals, business plans, budgets, and policies. Previously, he served as the Dipuno Fund Operations Lead, driving operational excellence in a Tiger Brands-founded ESD Fund that focuses on financing black-owned enterprises within Tiger Brands’ supply chain.

With an extensive career that includes positions at Telkom, Woolworths, and various government departments, Litha has been instrumental in developing and implementing ESD strategies, promoting BEE spend, and supporting black-owned businesses. His academic journey includes pursuing a Master of Philosophy in Insolvency and Business Rescue and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies, further underscoring his commitment to continuous learning and research in the field.

As a newly appointed board member of the African Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership (AFAP), Litha Kutta is well-positioned to contribute his vast knowledge and dedication to furthering AFAP’s mission of promoting sustainable agriculture and agribusiness across the African continent. His passion for fostering partnerships and driving positive change in the agriculture sector makes him a valuable addition to the AFAP Board of Trustees.
