Reginald Shaver
Reginald Shaver brings over 20 years of experience in corporate finance to AFAP. Prior to joining AFAP, he co-founded Cornerstone Capital Partners in 2018, focusing on corporate finance and project investments. He also served as a Partner at Affiniti VC from 2017 to 2018, investing in early-stage technology companies in the US and UK. Reginald also co-founded Due Diligence Partners, which provides due diligence and strategic operations consulting in South Africa and plans to expand rapidly across sub-Saharan Africa.
Reginald’s experience includes over six years at General Electric (GE) Africa, where he was responsible for GE’s balance sheet and third-party investments into infrastructure projects. He also advised GE customers on bespoke financial solutions in various sectors. Reginald worked on transactions worth over $3 billion during his tenure at GE. Prior to GE, he was Head of Debt Capital Markets – Origination for Sub-Saharan Africa for Barclays/Absa Capital based in South Africa.
Reginald holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, a Master’s degree in International Economics/Finance and Energy & Resources Studies from The Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Morehouse College. He also completed Harvard Business School’s Management Development Program for early- and mid-career professionals.
