Sandra Pires
Sandra brings over 20 years of experience in program management and sustainable development to her role at AFAP. She joined the organization in 2014 and has since been instrumental in providing advisory services for business development, marketing and communications, resource mobilization, SME entrepreneurship development, partnership brokerage, investment, trade/export promotion and facilitation, as well as working across sectors such as agriculture and food security, regional integration and infrastructure, and climate change and natural resources management.
Prior to joining AFAP, Sandra worked in both the private and non-profit sectors, managing initiatives in international economic development cooperation. Her expertise in providing advisory services has been integral in securing grants and private sector funding, and she has also played a significant role in facilitating partnerships that drive positive change in the communities AFAP serves.
Sandra holds a B.A. Honours Degree in International Relations and a postgraduate certificate in Development Studies from Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom. She also earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the European University, and is fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French. Her broad range of skills and multilingual abilities make her a valuable asset to AFAP and the communities they serve.
