MAPUTO, MOZAMBIQUE – In preparation for upcoming farmer engagement activities, AFAP Mozambique and Bayer have collaboratively established a network of demonstration plots across strategic agricultural locations in Mozambique. This joint initiative lays the groundwork for practical, hands-on learning experiences for local farming communities.

Demonstration plots serve as vital tools for agricultural education, allowing farmers to directly observe and compare the outcomes of different farming methods and input choices. These specific plots, developed through the AFAP Mozambique-Bayer partnership, will likely feature Bayer’s seed and crop protection technologies alongside recommended agronomic practices suited for Mozambique’s diverse environments.

The establishment of these plots is a crucial first step before hosting field days and training sessions where farmers can gather, learn from technical experts from both organizations, and see the potential benefits of adopting improved practices. This visual and interactive approach is highly effective in building smallholder farmer knowledge and confidence.
