AFAP Kenya Strengthens Hub Agro-dealers Through Capacity Building in Eldoret
NAIROBI, KENYA – The African Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership (AFAP) in Kenya recently conducted a two-day capacity-building training for approved hub agro-dealers under the Trade Credit Guarantee (TCG) project. Held on May 27–28, 2025, at the Starbucks Hotel in Eldoret, the training addressed key operational gaps identified during the project’s due diligence phase.
The sessions focused on core business areas including financial management, business operations, and regulatory compliance. Experts from the Pest Control and Products Board (PCPB), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Ministry of Agriculture, and Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) provided practical guidance on certification, licensing, and best practices relevant to the agro-input sector.
Suppliers engaged in the TCG program—YARA, Regen Organics, and Safi Organics—also participated, reinforcing the importance of collaboration across the input supply chain. Their involvement highlighted shared efforts to improve agro-dealer capacity and enhance smallholder access to quality agricultural inputs across Kenya.
The TCG project is supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
