AFAP Strengthens Trade Credit Guarantee Engagements in Ghana
ACCRA, GHANA – As part of efforts to enhance the implementation of the Trade Credit Guarantee (TCG) program in Ghana, AFAP’s TCG Director, Ms. Lade Araba, conducted a monitoring visit to engage with key stakeholders and program beneficiaries.
The TCG program allows agro-dealers to access fertilizers from suppliers on credit, with a 30-day repayment window. This model supports the timely delivery of inputs to farmers, particularly in underserved areas.
During her visit, Ms. Araba met with fertilizer companies, including YARA, Solevo, and Invess Agriculture, to discuss program benefits, reinforce supplier confidence, and address any operational challenges. She also visited select agro-dealers to gather feedback on their experience with the program and evaluate its role in improving input distribution.
In addition, she toured AFAP’s upcoming irrigated vegetable demonstration farm in the Volta Region, which will support training and input trials for local farmers.
The visit underscores AFAP’s continued focus on strengthening the fertilizer value chain and supporting efficient input access across Ghana.
