In Uganda, as the planting season unfolds, AFAP is actively establishing regional demonstration gardens using high-quality seeds and fertilizers. The initiative features maize variety SEEDCO SC 73 Tembo and YaraMila Power planting fertilizer, alongside crops such as tomatoes (Gloria F1 from Syngenta), cabbage (Fanaka F1 from Royal Seeds), and watermelon from Osho Chemicals.

Farmers are receiving hands-on training in good agronomic practices during planting, with a focus on essential techniques like proper land preparation, spacing, fertilizer application, and seed rates per hole. This training aims to empower farmers to replicate these practices in their own gardens, ultimately boosting agricultural production and ensuring food security in the region.
