African Fertilizer Distributors at forefront of conversation
The African Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership’s (AFAP) President and CEO, Jason Scarpone, will be attending the Argus FMB African Fertilizer Conference and exhibition in Senegal this March.
The fourth edition of the conference, which for the first time will be moved from Morocco, will be moved to Dakar, Senegal.
The spotlight will be African distributors and their vital role in connecting the international producing and trading community with the growing African market for fertilizers.
The 2013 conference will address the current difficulties facing distributors and examine ways to overcome those challenges using a partnership of public and private entities. Panellists, composed of African fertilizer CEO’s, representatives of commercial banks and aid organizations active in the region, will look at practical solutions to the challenges that lie ahead.
The 2012 conference saw over 450 attendees from 75 separate nations assemble in Agadir and focussed on the role of smallholder farmers throughout the region.
