Close Out Event of the Agricultural Input Resilience Program
On August 29, 2024, the Agricultural Input Resilience Program in Nigeria concluded with a successful closeout event held at the Nigerian Air Force Conference Centre in Abuja. This event marked the culmination of a comprehensive initiative aimed at enhancing agricultural resilience across Nigeria by improving the availability, affordability, and quality of essential farm inputs. The event brought together key stakeholders, including Barrister, Senitor Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the His Excellency Kashim Shettima, Vice President of Nigeria, who delivered the Vice President’s keynote address, Hon. Sen. Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture, who delivered the welcome remarks, Michael Sudarkasa President and CEO of the African Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership (AFAP), who delivered the opening remarks, alongside representatives from National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF), Fertilizer Producers & Suppliers Association of Nigeria (FEPSAN), Nigeria Agro Input Dealers Association (NAIDA), various state governors and commissioners, and commercial and rural farmer representatives.
During the event, AFAP officially handed over the program’s results and reports to the Nigerian government. The AFAP CEO expressed his satisfaction with the program’s outcomes and reaffirmed AFAP’s commitment to continuing its work in Nigeria to support sustainable agricultural development. Additionally, an MoU was signed between AFAP and the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) to further strengthen collaboration in future initiatives.
The event was a celebration of the achievements made and a commitment to building on these successes.
