Inaugural African Hub Agro-Dealer Development Conference (HADC) 2024: A Landmark Event
The inaugural African Hub Agro-Dealer Development Conference (HADC), organized by AFAP in June 2024 at the Kigali Marriott Hotel in Rwanda, was a resounding success. The event attracted over 200 delegates from more than 25 countries, fostering networking and promoting sustainable growth in Africa’s agricultural landscape.
This landmark event focused on strengthening the agriculture value chain and inputs sector in Africa through best practices, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. HADC 2024 featured a comprehensive and dynamic program spanning three days. The program boasted a roster of 60 speakers, including knowledge experts and industry leaders, who brought diverse perspectives and deep insights into the agricultural inputs sector. Sessions covered a wide array of topics, including strategic roundtables involving hub agro-dealers, suppliers, buyers, and off-takers, fostering invaluable dialogue and collaboration.
Featured sessions on revenue-enhancing technologies and innovations covered areas such as plant nutrition, agroforestry, extension services provision, and soil health practices. The Inputs Breakfast Sessions, including the ‘Women in Inputs Breakfast’ and the ‘Youth in Inputs Breakfast,’ addressed the underrepresentation of women and youth in the agri-inputs sector.
The conference was supported by multinational corporations, regional enterprises, and local sponsors, who also participated as exhibitors, enhancing brand visibility and facilitating meaningful interactions.
The event culminated with the 2nd Annual Hub Agro-Dealer of the Year Award (HAYA). The HAYA award ceremony recognized outstanding achievements within the hub agro-dealer community, providing a platform for peers to acknowledge excellence.
As a close to the conference, AFAP organized a Learning Journey: Fertilizer Factory Site Visit. The event concluded with a site visit to the Rwanda Fertilizer Company’s plant in Kigali, a consortium between the government of Rwanda and OCP Africa, showcasing RFC’s role in enhancing food security and economic empowerment through advanced fertilizer solutions.
HADC 2024 was a pivotal platform for spotlighting key players in African agriculture, fostering collaboration, and driving sustainable growth.
